Doug ‘Censor‘ Martin is best known for his Twitch streaming and being a former Call of Duty world champion but he’s just set a new world record for the most pull-ups in 24 hours with 9,250 pull-ups, shattering the previous record of 8,940 which was held by Kenta Adachi.

It should come as no surprise to anyone who has ever done pull-ups, or anyone who has worked with their hands for extended periods of time, but Censor’s hands were absolutely destroyed after his 24-hour world record feat. They looked flattened, elongated, and beat to heck. Honestly, they looked like the alien hands from E.T. or at least that’s how I remember them but I haven’t seen that movie in 25 years.

Here is the photo of his hands that he shared on X and Instagram, scroll to the third photo in the Instagram gallery to see his nasty fingers full of blisters, blood blisters, and other injuries:

His new world record of 9,250 pull-ups is truly mind blowing. 9,250 divided by 365 is about 25.3, meaning that if you did something once every single day of your life for 25.3 years it would add up to 9,250 times. I say that because I’m trying to think of something that I’ve done 9,250 times before other than eating, sleeping, brushing my teeth, driving, showering, etc.

Have you exercised 9,250 times in your life? Have you done anything 9,250 times that wasn’t part of routine care of your life? Gaming perhaps? Swimming? I’m at a loss.

Side note, as someone who was on the crew team in HS, I’m not surprised that his hands got so nuked but I am surprised there doesn’t appear to be heavy calluses. Everyone on crew had massive calluses from the wooden oars / erg machines and I’d think that in the pursuit of the pull-ups record that Doug ‘Censor’ Martin would have developed heavy calluses as well. Maybe they peeled off along the way? Who knows.
