All it took was one season. Just one season of Deebo Samuel lining in the backfield and adding 365 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns to his already impressive 1405 receiving yards for everybody to start figuring out if they can get a Deebo Samuel on their roster.

Some have thrown around inaccurate comparisons between him and Cordarelle Patterson. Other are looking to future for another Deebo. It turns out, there is one NFL draft prospect who is trying to be like Deebo Samuel.

Yesterday, Treylon Burks told reporters at the NFL Combine that he models his game after Deebo.

If there is any player in this year’s draft who looks like he could double as both a wide receiver and a running back who runs between the tackles, it’s Burks. Burks is a huge wide receiver at 6’3″ and 225 pounds. Those numbers mean that he is 5 inches taller than this year leading rusher, Jonathan Taylor, and only 2 pounds lighter.

He’s also 3 inches taller and 9 pounds heavier than Deebo. If Burks really can provide the versatility of Deebo Samuel it would just be another reason teams should be falling all over themselves to draft him.

His size and speed combo are going to make him a nightmare to cover for opposing corners in the NFL. His numbers at Arkansas were also very impressive.

Burks put up 1924 yards and 18 touchdowns in 21 games over the last two seasons as a receiver and even added 187 yards and a touchdown on the ground on just 29 carries.

Treylon Burks is going to be a highly coveted receiver in the NFL just based on his abilities as a receiver, but if he can manage to emulate Deebo Samuel, then he could be the biggest difference make in this year’s draft.
