Drake Maye probably received plenty of congratulatory messages after he was selected by the Patriots with the third overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, but his brothers decided to take a slightly different route with the video they filmed for his big night.

The first round of this year’s NFL Draft was all about the quarterbacks taking the leap to the next level. It was a foregone conclusion the Bears were going to take Caleb Williams first overall, but North Carolina product Drake Maye was in the conversation when it came to the other QBs who would end up going near the top.

That ended up being the case when everything was said and done, as the New England Patriots will presumably be handing him the reins this season as they gear up for a reboot in the wake of the departure of Mac Jones.

Maye was one of the 13 players who decided to head to Detroit for the event and was surrounded by members of his family when Roger Goodell stepped up to the podium to announce the pick. That crew included his three brothers, who had already recorded a hilarious message he got the chance to view after the dust started to settle.

Drake is the youngest of four siblings, and while he’s the most accomplished of the bunch, every single one of them managed to play sports at the college level.

The oldest, Luke, played basketball for the Tar Heels and had a brief stint in the G League before heading overseas (his crowning achievement was a game-winning buzzer-beater against Kentucky in the Elite Eight in 2017). Beau followed in his footsteps but didn’t see much playing time in Chapel Hill, while Cole pitched at the University of Florida

It’s safe to assume Drake has been subjected to the unique form of affection that is brotherly love over the years as the youngest of the bunch, and they gave him his latest dose after the draft in a video where Cole, Luke, and Beau playfully (and respectively) referred to him as “pretty boy,” “overrated, and “a b—-.”

Who needs enemies when you have brothers like that?
