Druw Jones, the son of (should-be Hall of Fame) MLB outfielder Andruw Jones, hit one of the coldest home runs that you will ever see on Wednesday evening. While fans around him chanted that he was overrated, Jones dug into the box and sent a moonshot into orbit.

At 18 years old, Druw is currently a senior at Wesleyan High School in Georgia. He is ranked the No. 1 MLB Draft eligible prospect for 2022 by MLB Network and the No. 4 overall player in his class by Perfect Game.

Just like his father, Jones plays centerfield. And although he has the same defensive skills as his 10-time Gold Glove Award-winning dad, he makes his mark at the dish.

Jones stands 6-foot-4, 190 pounds and is currently committed to play college baseball at Vanderbilt. However, it is very unlikely that he plays in Nashville after hearing his name called in the first round of the MLB Draft.

In the meantime, he is making his case to go first overall.

Jones hit a home run to open his high school season on Opening Day, added two more MONSTER dingers in the second game of the season and recently added his biggest yet to the tally. During Wednesday’s 6-1 win over Decatur, the opposing fans were all over him.

When Jones stepped up to the plate, he was met by loud chants that called him overrated. They were loud and consistent throughout the at-bat.

Jones quickly proved to them that he is not overrated by any stretch of imagination.

He jumped on a 92 mile per hour heater and silenced everybody. The ball may have landed at the North Pole.

Jones’ home run was so massive that even those who were chanting “overrated” couldn’t hold back a gasp. Take a look:

After making contact, it took Jones a solid four-count before he even began his trot down the first base line. He soaked in the moment and pimped it with a bat flip.

Here is another look:

Jones got every piece of the ball. And as he crossed the plate, he hit the opposing fans with a “shush” finger over his mouth. Ice cold.

Imagine being the opposing pitcher in this situation. Such a tough position to be put in.

Your home fans are chanting that the top prospect in baseball is overrated and then you proceed to give up a very, very, very large tater to the top prospect in baseball who your home fans are calling overrated. Brutal.
