Roughly six months after the heart-wrenching Super Bowl LVII loss, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown remains haunted by the game-changing holding call that handed the victory to the Kansas City Chiefs.

In a recent viral clip with YouTuber Deestroying, Brown expressed his frustration over the lack of defensive holding calls in the NFL and recalled the crucial call in the Super Bowl.

“All the time, but refs don’t call it. They never call it. They just called it during the Super Bowl, on that one play…” Brown lamented during the clip.

The contentious holding call came late in the game, involving Eagles cornerback James Bradberry and Chiefs receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.

While it was evident that Bradberry had tugged on Smith-Schuster’s jersey, critics have questioned the timing of the call.

The penalty allowed the Chiefs to drain the fourth-quarter clock, securing a 38-35 lead with only seconds remaining, denying the Eagles a chance at a comeback drive.

The controversial call sparked heated discussions after the Super Bowl, and tensions escalated on social media.

Smith-Schuster and other Chiefs players posted a TikTok video mocking the Eagles and Bradberry, prompting a response from Eagles cornerback Darius Slay, who labeled it as “Trolling.”

The feud between the two teams continued as Brown and Smith-Schuster engaged in their own social media battle over a “Lame” Valentine’s Day card directed at Bradberry.

As the 2023 NFL season approaches and training camp begins, Brown’s bitterness over the Super Bowl loss remains evident.

The Eagles are set to face the Chiefs in Week 11 under the primetime spotlight of “Monday Night Football.”, so they won’t have to wait long for redemption.
