Eddie Alvarez Just Ramped Things Up Even More For UFC 205 By Ripping Conor McGregor’s Fanbase

UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez is apparently willing to go toe-to-toe with UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor as far as smack talk goes in the lead-up their championship fight at UFC 205.

McGregor and Alvarez have already done much sniping at one another with Alvarez even saying of McGregor, “It’s hard for me to be intimidated by a guy who gets his suits at Build-A-Bear.”

Now, however, Alvarez has turned his attention to McGregor’s fanbase during a recent appearance on The MMA Hour

It just sort of reiterated to me what his fan base is. His fan base is him. They’re people who, it’s all perception. It seems like he has a lot of WWE fans, guys who don’t know much about fighting at all, they are just like him. You can have them fans, they’re not the fans I want anyway. You can boo all day long.

I don’t want fans who don’t know shit about MMA. I’d rather have a fan who knows the sport, enjoys the sport, and can see value.

What makes this even more funny is how much trash McGregor has been talking about WWE wrestlers over the past few months.

Clearly Alvarez is figuring out what buttons to push as we get closer to perhaps the last fight we’ll Conor McGregor participate in for some time.

November 12th can’t get here soon enough.
