My relationship with the New York Jets is complicated, to say the least. Growing up, NFL football was my favorite sport and the Jets were my favorite team. From Vinny Testaverde and Bill Parcells to Eric Mangini and Chad Pennington/Brett Favre to the hilariously halcyon days of Rex Ryan.
But over the last decade or so, through a combination of the NFL becoming an increasingly political and violent entity, my newfound love of the Premier League, and most importantly, the Jets being one of the worst franchises in the league, my love and enthusiasm for the team has been ground down to shreds, a mere echo of my formerly rabid fandom.
As things currently stand, the Jets have the longest active playoff drought in the NFL, as it’s been 11 years since their last postseason berth back in 2011. It’s been a long time since the Jets gave their fans. Until, perhaps, this year, as the team — despite its Joe Flacco-led start and subpar play for clearly-not-a-franchise-QB Zach Wilson — the team is 5-2 as the calendar turns to October and is relevant at the halfway point, a quite rare occurrence for the organization. Should be all sunshine and daisies in Florham Park, right? As the great Charlie Murphy once exclaimed… “WRONG!”
Prior to this Sunday’s win against the floundering Denver Broncos, second-year wideout Elijah Moore — with a grand total of 59 catches in his NFL career — requested a trade because he was unhappy with his usage. Head coach Robert Saleh, not prepared to let Moore’s selfishness derail the team, sent the diva pass catcher home and did not fly him out with the rest of the team to Sunday’s game in Denver.
Jets fans uncover Elijah Moore’s alleged pathetic burner account that he uses to gas himself up and reply to teammates/reporters
To make the optics even worse for Moore — who has more targets through the first 17 games of his career than the likes of Cooper Kupp, Stephon Diggs, Tyreek Hill, and Davante Adams — Jets fans believe they’ve tracked down his alleged burner account, which he allegedly uses to do nothing but gas himself up (and reply to teammates and journalists). BIG yikes, especially considering that the account has since been deleted.
Elijah Moore created a burner account. And realized it was to pro him and had to delete it. LOL WOW. https://t.co/SbI3BQeR7d

Jets Twitter single handedly running rookie of the week. Jets Twitter single handedly bullied the Johnson’s into making changes to this franchise 2 years ago. And now, their greatest accomplishment – finding Elijah Moore’s burner in less than 3 hours of its creation. Legends.

The Jets organization was willing to keep this shit completely in house for the record. They lied about it to give him cover and Elijah Moore went home told his agent he wants to be traded and made a burner account to talk shit to Sauce. I’ve never seen anything like this

No matter what the situation, when you’re secretly tweeting about yourself, it’s never a good look.
