  • Calvin Ridley has been suspended by the NFL for the entire 2022 NFL season.
  • The Falcons wideout was allegedly caught gambling on NFL games last season.
  • FS1 analyst Emmanuel Acho has shared a “damning” video of what he implies is evidence of fixing games.

Fox Sports 1 NFL analyst Emmanuel Acho took to Twitter on Monday to share what he considers to be a “damning” video of Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley in light of the news that he allegedly gambled on NFL games during the 2021 season. Ridley, a first-round pick in the 2018 draft, announced on Halloween of last year that he would be stepping away from the team to deal with mental health issues.

On Monday, the NFL announced in an official statement that Ridley, 27-years-old, was being suspended for the entire 2022 season after he was allegedly caught betting on NFL games last year. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the NFL — “through its relationships within the legal sports betting industry” — discovered that Ridley allegedly placed multiple parlay bets that included the Falcons to win.

“NFL commissioner Roger Goodell today suspended Calvin Ridley of the Atlanta Falcons indefinitely through at least the conclusion of the 2022 season for betting on NFL games in the 2021 season,” the NFL’s official statement began.

“A league investigation uncovered no evidence indicating any inside information was used or that any game was compromised in any way. Nor was there evidence suggesting any awareness by coaches, staff, teammates, or other players of his betting activity,” the statement continued.

In response to the NFL’s decision to suspend him for the entire upcoming season, Ridley took to Twitter to admit that while he knows he was wrong to bet on NFL games, he thinks an entire year suspension is too harsh.

As is the case with all NFL suspensions, Ridley can appeal the suspension if he files notice within three days, as per the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement. At this time, it is unclear whether or not Ridley has filed such an appeal.
