Erling Haaland ignored a DM from Tom Holland
While Erling Haaland may be larger-than-life on the pitch, he also seems to live in his own world off of it. How else do you explain him ignoring a dinner invitation from Tom Holland?
The 25-year-old star Norway and Manchester City striker says he doesn’t watch many movies, and thus had no idea who Tom Holland was when he sent him a DM while the pair were both in Monaco for Formula 1’s Monaco Grand Prix.
Not only did the Spider-Man actor reach out to Haaland, but he did so with a dinner invitation. Haaland, however, left the message unread in his inbox and forgot all about it.
Erling Haaland says he ignored a dinner invitation from Spider-Man actor Tom Holland because he didn’t know who he was
“This is a bit embarrassing, to be completely honest. We were in Monaco at the Formula 1, and then I got a message. I don’t watch movies much, so I have no idea who people are. There was one asking if we could go out for dinner, but I’d never seen him, so I didn’t bother to answer. I didn’t want to answer an unknown person,” Haaland said during an interview with the Norwegian show A Laget.
“I think I’ll have to send him a message now. I’d completely forgotten about it.”
Following Mbappe’s eighth goal of the World Cup against Monaco on Thursday, Haaland now trails the French striker and Lionel Messi in the Golden Boot race, as he’s in second place with seven goals.
Haaland and Norway will be facing off against fellow Golden Boot contender Harry Kane and England in the quarterfinals of the 2026 World Cup in Miami on Saturday, July 11 at 5 p.m. EST.
Holland, on the other hand, will next be seen starring in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, which hits theaters on July 17, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, releasing on July 31.
