With four games left on the schedule, USC’s season is basically over after losing in back-to-back weeks, and fans are now debating whether or not Caleb Williams should continue playing this year.

On Saturday, Williams was visibly upset on the sidelines after USC lost to Utah in heartbreaking fashion.

After the game, former NFL player FS1 host Emmanuel Acho went viral when he suggested Williams Should make a “business decision” and shut it down for the season to get ready for the NFL draft.
“With National Championship hopes gone, Caleb Williams should consider sitting out the rest of the season.”

“The Heisman is a long shot, CFB Playoffs are even less likely, and he won’t play in the bowl game.”

“The risk of playing FAR outweighs the reward. Business decision.”

Acho’s comments got a strong response from the college football community.

CBS analyst Doug Gottlieb blasted Acho for suggesting Williams should sit.

“Ahhh the old… quit because it is about me…. Not about the team. Nothing like former players spreading this BS to college players… oh and yeah, all that NIL money goes away if you sit.”

ESPN’S Dusty Dvoracek also ripped into Acho.

“I HATE this take! I understand that players might want to quit on their team b/c they feel it’s best for them, but for you to encourage and promote that before it actually happens is a problem.
Disappointing that you use your platform to spread this message for CFB. Be better!”

It’ll be interesting to see if Williams actually plays out the season and risks injury when many consider him to be the top quarterback going into the draft.
