Ezekiel Elliot has finally broken his silence during his current contract negotiations and Cowboys fans don’t seem too happy about it.
The latest reports on Zeke’s holdout have the team offering to make him the second highest paid running back in the league behind Todd Gurley.
Sources: The most recent offer in negotiations between holdout Ezekiel Elliott and the Cowboys came from the team. Elliott has been offered a contract making him one of the NFL’s 2 highest-paid RB. That would suggest team offering more than LeVeon Bell and less than Todd Gurley.

Elliott’s social media activity suggests that he wants to be paid more than Gurley.
Ezekiel Elliott retweeted a @joethomas73 tweet emphasizing that if you’re the best at your position then on your second deal you should beat the highest-paid at it by 15-20%.

With 13 days left until the start of the season, Elliott has broken his silence and spoke with Maxim about his holdout. In the interview, Elliott proclaimed that he wanted to be a “Cowboy for life” but implied that he would leave if he had to.

I love playing for the Dallas Cowboys, I love the organization, my teammates. I do want to be a Cowboy for the rest of my life and hopefully that’s a possibility,” Elliott said. “But even Emmitt Smith, the greatest running back ever, ended up going to play a couple of years for another organization. So it’s just the nature of the game, but I want to be a Dallas Cowboy for as long as I can.”
Cowboys fans were clearly not pleased with Zeke’s latest quote.
Ok SEE YAAA in Arizona! Don't cave in Jerry let him sit for 3 years.

Dude could’ve been a cowboy if he accepted the cowboys later offer, he’s acting like he has no control over the situation

@EzekielElliott Very disappointed! I am a Dallas Cowboys fan and was a Zeke fan but not now. You had a great offer but entitlement is getting the best of you. I don’t show up to work, I don’t get a raise, I get fired!!!
