Former mixed martial artist Conor McGregor was very excited when he found out that Limp Bizkit was coming to his hometown of Dublin last week. As it turned out, however, he probably should have kept his enthusiasm to himself.

“Who’s going to @limpbizkit in Ireland tomorrow?” the 36-year-old former UFC champion wrote on Instagram. “I’ll be bang in the centre of the Moshpit if anyone’s looking for their jaw broke and their teeth sent.”

Many fans were fired up to find out that “The Notorious One” would be in attendance at the concert, but not everyone.

“Love it if the whole crowd rushed you and stamped you out,” one person responded in the comments, while another person wrote, “The only fighting Conor does these days.” There were also several references to the multiple lawsuits made against him by women claiming he assaulted them, including the one where he was found guilty.

Which is probably why when Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst mentioned Conor McGregor’s name during the concert he was met with a chorus of boos.

“It sounds like you’re in love with Conor McGregor,” Durst said to the crowd, eliciting a massive amount of boos. “And I’ll be straight with you. From what I heard, he’s actually out there right now [points to crowd].”

It’s pretty rough to get booed in your hometown – a town that used to think of you as such hero. Then again, back when Conor McGregor was winning UFC titles and was the talk of the MMA world he hadn’t been found guilty of assaulting a woman or sued by a second woman who claims he assaulted a another woman in a bathroom at Game 4 of the 2023 NBA Finals in Miami.
