21-year-old Arizona Cardinals rookie Jeremiyah Love was the third overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. After the team drafted him, he signed a four-year, $53 million contract.

So he isn’t hurting for money. Especially after receiving a $35 million signing bonus.

That being said, time and time again, fans have heard stories about professional athletes (a) not really making as much as their contracts state due to taxes, agents, and other “expenses,” and (b) going broke, despite earning millions of dollars, because they didn’t properly manage the money they earned.

So, when his girlfriend, Aliece, shared a since-deleted TikTok video (but forever saved by the internet) captioned “Just wanted to say God is good” and showed herself driving a Lamborghini Urus, which costs between $234,000 and $338,000, many fans had questions.

Then, when the New York Post and other media outlets reported that the former Notre Dame running back gave his girlfriend the $300,000 Lamborghini, the reactions weren’t good.

Many fans didn’t think Jeremiyah Love made a wise decision

U BIG DUMMY! Dat’s how homies go broke so quikly [sic]. Cardinals chowderhead rookie Jeremiyah Love gifts GF $300K Lambo,” one fan commented on X.

Bro gonna be sitting on a podcaster’s couch in 5 years teaching us about taxes and explaining how $10M isn’t really $10M,” read another comment, perhaps referring to this recent Joe Haden interview.

This dumba– might go broke while he’s still in the league,” another fan wrote.

Boy oh boy it’s soo sad that we STILL don’t know the reasons why so many athletes are broke so shortly after their playing days are thru, ya hopefully with the right research we can figure this all out as a community,” someone else commented sarcastically.

I don’t want to hear later that Sports Money wasn’t enough because of taxes and all. This is the net money that is being spent like he’s Bezos,” another unsympathetic person commented.

And on and on it went like that in the comments.
