It has already been a busy week in the NFL and it doesn’t seem like that is going to stop any time soon. Yesterday it was the Russell Wilson trade and Aaron Rodgers deciding to stay with the Green Bay Packers. Today, one of the teams that missed out on Wilson has found their starting quarterback.
According to Adam Schefter, the Washington Commanders are trading for Carson Wentz.

Colts get:
🏈2022 third-round pick
🏈2023 third-round pick that can become a second if Carson Wentz plays 70 percent of plays.

It’s a move that allows the Colts to move on from Wentz after one season that ended disappointingly. However, it doesn’t come close to recouping the investment they made in trading a first rounder for Wentz. It also now leaves them among the list of NFL teams currently searching for a QB.
For the Commanders, as much as it seems like the internet disagrees with this, the move is a big win. They got the upgrade at QB that they’ve been looking for and did it pretty cheaply. They still find themselves slightly under the salary cap and didn’t have to use their first round pick to land a QB, so they can now continue to build up their squad elsewhere.
The internet has chimed in on the trade and they don’t understand the move for the Commanders.
