Buchholz defeated West Port by 21 during the high school football game in Florida. However, they played only three minutes.
A bizarre cancelation led to the most lopsided win of the season in the shortest amount of time.
Both high school football programs agreed not to play the remaining ~45 minutes. The final score will count.

F.W. Buchholz High School is located in Gainesville, Florida. It enrolls approximately 2,500 students in Grades 9-12. West Port High School is located in Ocala, Florida. It enrolls approximately 3,000 students in Grades 9-12.
The Bobcats and the Wolf Pack both compete in Class 5A, Region 1, District 3 of the Florida High School Athletic Association for high school football. The former was moved down from Class 6A during the offseason.
They played against each other in Week 4. Buchholz, at 3-0, traveled to West Port, at 1-2.
It did not take long for the game to get out of hand. The Bobcats were on pace to score 84 points in the first quarter. They ultimately defeated the Wolf Pack by three touchdowns. That might’ve been even more lopsided if they played all 48 minutes.

Buchholz returned the opening kickoff past the 50-yard-line. It scored on the next play.
West Port took over on offense. It fumbled on the first play from scrimmage.
Buchholz recovered the fumble. It scored on the next play.
West Port took back over on offense, already down 14-0. It went three-and-out.
Buchholz received the punt. It scored two plays later.
The Bobcats went up 21-0 in three minutes and one second. Both high school football teams ran only four total plays on offense. And then lightning was detected in the area. The game went into a weather delay while the Wolf Pack waited to return the kickoff.
Instead of waiting out the delay, which could’ve lasted for a few hours, the game was ruled as final. Game over.
Buchholz moved to 4-0 with the 21-point win. West Port dropped to 1-3 even though there was still nine minutes and 59 seconds remaining in the first quarter. They had almost four full quarters left to play. Both sides agreed to call it a night.
Bobcats head coach Mark Whittemore told Joseph Spears it was one of the craziest experiences he’s had as a coach.
“It was a fascinating little turn of events. We go to kick off, and the game was called because of lightning and the decision was made that lightning was going to be lasting too long and agreed to call it a night. It was just a strange situation. Sometimes you can’t control the weather so just knowing that you’re not going to get it in until late and with three quick scores like that, you want to play it accordingly. I didn’t want people to get out there and get hurt.”
