Football Fans Are Trashing Fanatics Over Janky Official NFL Merchandise

Earlier this year, Michael Rubin hosted his annual 4th of July ‘White Party’ and seemingly every celebrity you’ve ever heard of was in attendance.

But that left people wondering: “who is Michael Rubin and why do all these people come to his parties?”

Rubin, who is reportedly worth over $11 billion, is the founder and CEO of Fanatics.

And if you want to buy any merchandise to support your favorite team or athlete, you probably have to pay him money.

That’s because Fanatics has basically cornered the market on sports merchandise in the US. The company is the official merchandise provider of the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, WNBA, NASCAR any many more.

For all intents and purposes, it’s a monopoly.

But there’s one major problem: the quality of its products is horrific and the customer service is somehow worse.

The company is so bad that the Twitter account “Fanatics Sucks” has over 6,000 followers. The account regularly posts horror stories about Fanatics products.

On Thursday, prior to the Philadelphia Eagles’ home opener against the Minnesota Vikings, Eagles fan Shealyn Kilroy shared her own story.

Did anyone else’s Kelly green Eagles merch come in from the official NFL shop uhhhh crooked,” she tweeted, accompanied by two pictures showing a Jalen Hurts shirsey with No. 1 that looked more like the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

As it turns out, the answer to her question was “yes.” Several other fans flooded her replies with examples of horrible quality Fanatics products.

Fans continued to pile on the company, ruing the fact that it was the only way to obtain official team or player gear.

Nothing quite like spending your hard-earned money on something that looks worse than a bootleg version you can buy online for a fraction of the price.

But hey, at least Michael Rubin has cool parties all his famous friends, right?
