Nobody is quite sure what Francis Ngannou’s plans are after departing from the UFC. Although, he does have a few options available.
It sounds like the former heavyweight champion wants to have the freedom to get in the MMA cage and the boxing ring.
With that in mind, it sounds like there is a perfect opportunity on the table. According to MMA Junkie, “There is no one else in the world who can give him the opportunities in both boxing and MMA at the level Bellator and Showtime Boxing can do.” If thats’ the case, this could be an interesting landing spot for Francis Ngannou.
The source goes on to explain, “Showtime and Bellator can give him the best flexibility and bang for his buck, the biggest most lucrative financial opportunity, all while really allowing him to develop all elements of his career simultaneously.”
If that’s the case, then it sounds like Francis Ngannou could be incredibly happy if the right offer is made. He’d have the leisure of jumping back and forth between boxing and MMA, which could lead to some massive opportunities for the star heavyweight.
At the moment, no official offers have been made. Regardless, we have to assume a deal could be incoming at any time. Especially considering how many leagues and organizations would love to have Francis Ngannou on their roster.
In the end, there aren’t that many intriguing fights for the former champ in MMA right now. However, a fight with Tyson Fury in the boxing ring would bring in some serious dough. Regardless, Francis Ngannou has a chance to prove to MMA fighters how much money they can make outside of the UFC, which seems to be his ultimate goal anyway.
