The 49ers have plenty of decisions to make in the wake of a disappointing season where they posted a 6-11 record while losing seven of their last eight games. That includes whether or not to bring back Dre Greenlaw before he becomes a free agent, but the team may have already made the call on that front based on a TikTok that was posted by Fred Warner’s wife.
In 2019, the San Francisco 49ers used a fifth-round pick to scoop up Dre Greenlaw out of Arkansas, and the linebacker quickly emerged as a valuable asset on the defensive front while forming an incredibly dynamic duo alongside Fred Warner.
Greenlaw missed the bulk of the 2021 season with a groin injury before bouncing back in a big way the following year, and that performance was enough to earn a two-year contract extension worth $16.4 million.
All signs pointed to the 49ers retaining his talents after he essentially matched the same level of production in 2023, but the picture became a bit blurrier after he tore his Achilles during San Francisco’s loss to the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII.
Greenlaw started the season on injured reserve and wasn’t able to return until midway through December, and he ultimately appeared in just two games before the team opted to shut him down after they were eliminated from playoff contention.
The LB will be eligible to sign with another team when the free agency window opens up in March, and it would appear he’s played his final snap in a San Francisco uniform based on the TikTok that Sydney Warner posted on Monday.
The clip in question features Greenlaw’s fiancée Mikaela Gallagher arriving at a surprise party filled with the wives and girlfriends of other 49ers players along with a caption that would strongly suggest he’s heading to another franchise.

There’s always a chance the 49ers have a change of heart at some point over the next couple of months, but it would certainly appear the winds are currently blowing in the opposite direction.
