The Florida State Seminoles are still looking to right the ship in the 2024 season, a task that won’t be made much easier by their next opponent.

FSU is set to face Clemson in what was expected to be DJ Uiagalelei’s opportunity at revenge. A subtle change to the depth chart, however, could rob the passer of that chance!

It’s been well documented that Uiagalelei has struggled under center this year. The quarterback is just 1-4 as a starter and leads the ACC in interceptions thrown.

His most recent outing was quite possibly his worst.

Uiagalelei posted season-lows in completions and completion percentage while tossing trio of picks. It led to an eventual 42-16 blowout vs. SMU.

Adding to the ‘Noles offensive woes, Uiagalelei suffered a hand injury on his final play of action though it isn’t expected to keep him sidelined against the Tigers.

The depth chart change could, however.

Many around Tallahassee have been calling for QB2 Brock Glenn, and based on this lineup adjustment, he could be in line to make his first start.

DJ Uiagalelei and Brock Glenn are both listed on the starting line, only separated by the word “OR.”

Throughout last week, head coach Mike Norvell insisted that Uiagalelei would remain the starter. That thinking changed after Saturday.

“DJ is something we’re going to evaluate throughout the course of the week,” Norvell said after the loss. “In all reality, I said it after the game, after the interception… I decided I was gonna make the change.”

The subtle depth chart change doesn’t confirm Uiagalelei’s benching, but it certainly shows that the coaching staff is thinking about it.

If it does, it would rob Uiagalelei of his revenge game opportunity!

DJU Uiagalelei arrived at FSU after a stint at ACC rival Clemson.

It’s his second time in the league!

His time at Clemson began with hope, but the five-star passer ultimately failed to live up to massive expectations. A large portion of the fanbase turned on him after his second season as a starter, leading to a transfer.

Now, we’re seeing a similar storyline play out in Tallahassee.

A win over Clemson would briefly quiet the criticisms while giving Uiagalelei the last laugh over his former program.

We’ll see if he gets the chance!
