Gary Woodland won the U.S. Open, his first major title, back in June holding off Brooks Koepka and company at Pebble Beach. One would think that would be the highlight of Woodland’s summer, but when your wife gives birth to twins, it’s safe to say that gets the vote for moment of the year.
Woodland first announced that he and his wife Gabby were expecting twins during his magical week at Pebble Beach and on Friday, he announced they welcomed twin daughters Maddox and Lennox.

The news of the twins is extremely special as Woodland and his wife were expecting twins back in 2017 as well, but one of the babies passed away due to complications during the pregnancy. Gabby gave birth to their son Jaxson, who came 10 weeks early, after losing one of the babies.
“This year means more to me than any other, it really does,” Woodland told the Golf Channel back in 2017. “This was the toughest year of my life by far. The little man has been dealing with a little bit of stuff, but it’s just never been easy.”
Woodland was not in the field for this week’s Wyndham Championship but is scheduled to play at next week’s Northern Trust Open as the FedEx Cup Playoffs get underway.
The former college basketball player turned golfer has had quite the year. Twin girls, a win at the U.S. Open, a second-place finish at the Sentry Tournament of Champions to start the year and has racked up just over $5.6 million.
