The 2024 SEC football schedule won’t be released until next week. But, Georgia’s schedule has leaked out, and it’s absolutely brutal. It has to be the toughest in the country.

SEC schedules are always pretty difficult, but they were a little easier for Georgia due to the fact that they played in the weaker division, the SEC East. With Texas and Oklahoma joining the league next year that’s two more good teams in the mix, and divisions are also being eliminated.

The SEC isn’t going to a nine-game schedule like the Big Ten and Big 12 play which is a pretty obvious ploy of trying to get more teams bowl eligible and more teams into the expanded College Football Playoff. That doesn’t mean Georgia’s schedule is anything but ridiculous.

Holy cow. What a murderer’s row. And, it starts week one with a matchup against Clemson. Yes, Clemson has been down the last few year for their standards. But, Dabo Swinney is making some pretty big changes this offseason, and the team is going to bring a lot of talent back.

And that’s just for starters. Georgia has to play two of the four playoff teams in Alabama and Texas on the road next year, and gets another New Years’ Six team in Ole Miss on the road as well.

There’s no way any team in the country has a more difficult trio of true road games than those three heading into next year. Georgia will obviously have the talent to succeed with that schedule, but it’s going to be tough.

That being said, the difficult schedule is coming at the right time, as the playoff expanding to twelve teams is going to give a team with that kind of schedule the wiggle-room to lose two, maybe three games and still get into the playoff.

Georgia still has one game left this season, as the #5 Bulldogs will take on #6 Florida State in the Orange Bowl on December 30.
