Duke’s men’s basketball program has produced a number of particularly hateable players over the years, and Grayson Allen secured a spot near the top of the list of its most despised products based on the reputation he earned during his time playing for the Blue Devils.

Over the course of his four seasons at Duke, Allen was rightfully labeled a dirty player thanks to his impressive inability to stop tripping opponents on the court. However, he was an undeniably talented shooter who possessed enough promise to be selected by the Jazz in the first round of the 2018 NBA Draft.

It seemed like there was at least a chance Allen would clean up his game after turning pro, but it’s safe to say that hasn’t been the case. A couple of years ago, Trae Young called out the guard for trying to trip him during a game, but any doubts about Allen’s maturity were all but put to rest over the weekend when he was ejected from the Bucks’ contest against the Bulls after being assessed for a Flagrant 2 for an incredibly dirty foul on Alex Caruso.

After the game, Caruso was diagnosed with a fractured wrist he suffered during the play that will keep him sidelined for six to eight weeks, and a ton of people called for Allen’s head as a result. However, after reviewing the incident, the NBA opted to take a fairly conservative approach by opting to suspend Allen for a single game.

As you can see, plenty of fans weren’t exactly thrilled with that decision.

After the news broke, the Bucks harnessed a very bold strategy by issuing a statement to voice their displeasure with Allen’s suspension.

When it comes to a situation like this, Milwaukee might want to do what Allen will be forced to do in his next game and just sit it out.
