Last offseason, in exchange for Super Bowl winner Russell Wilson, the Denver Broncos gave up two first-round picks, two second-round picks, a 2022 fifth-round pick, and three additional players. To say it didn’t work out would perhaps be the understatement of the 2022 NFL season.
Now, as the New York Jets look to acquire future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers, it’s been largely reported that the Packers would look to get a similar haul for the four-time MVP and were demanding two first-round picks.
According to the latest report from Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, negotiations between the two teams are ongoing and the Packers apparently aren’t asking for a two-first-round pick package in return for Rodgers.
A report on Wednesday indicated the Packers might be looking for multiple first-round picks in return for Rodgers after seeing quarterbacks Matthew Stafford and Russell Wilson dealt for those kinds of packages in the past.
Those situations were very different from the one the Packers find themselves in with Rodgers, however, and Pelissero reports that the team is not looking for that kind of return. [via ProFootballTalk]
The #Packers and #Jets continue to negotiate on an Aaron Rodgers trade but have not yet agreed to trade terms, per sources.

At the time of this writing, Rodgers is appearing on The Pat McAfee Show as we speak. Despite now being on the program for 15 minutes, he’s yet to make any comments on his future. It should be noted, however, that the YouTube thumbnail for today’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show features Rodgers wearing a Jets jersey.

Earlier this week, former ESPN anchor Trey Wingo tweeted that Rodgers to the Jets was “done” and that the current holdup is due to the negotiations between the two franchises.
