Green Bay Packers Accidentally Introduce Third Round NFL Draft Pick With Picture Of Wrong Player

Former USC running back Marshawn Lloyd was drafted by the Green Bay Packers during the third round of the NFL Draft on Friday night. He was accidentally introduced as someone else.

It was a classic social media mixup!

Lloyd, who spent three seasons at South Carolina before transferring to Southern California, will play in a backfield alongside Josh Jacobs and A.J. Dillon. In a sense, he serves as the replacement for Aaron Jones. The 5-foot-9, 210-pound ball-carrier ran for 1,234 yards and 19 touchdowns on 227 carries in three years.

While with the Trojans, he wore the number zero.

Here is where the confusion lies!

Green Bay’s social media team went to announce the No. 88 overall pick with a graphic on X. They went into Getty Images or whatever photography supplier they use and grabbed a picture of a USC football player who wore the No. 0.

It was the wrong guy…

Lloyd’s former teammate in Los Angeles, Korey Foreman, also wears the neutral integer. The Packers accidentally used a photo of the 6-foot-4, 235-pound defensive lineman instead of their new running back. Their post has since been deleted.

Fortunately, Green Bay caught its error and quickly replaced the graphic with a correct image of Lloyd.

Whomever it was that made the initial error was very careful to use the correct No. 0 throughout the rest of the night.

As awkward as it is in terms of optics, this is a pretty common occurrence and it may not have been the social media administrator’s fault. He or she may have been going off of how the photo was labeled on the image source, which could have been incorrect.

Unfortunately, the internet lives forever. The Packers’s blunder will always exist online, even though it was pretty quick to be corrected.
