Throughout this NFL offseason, much of the talk about the Green Bay Packers has centered around what is going to happen with Aaron Rodgers.

However, at some point we’ll need to start focusing on what Jordan Love becoming the team’s starter means for the future of the franchise.

The Packers aren’t coming off of a particularly successful season, finishing with an 8-9 record after winning 13 games each of the previous 3 seasons.

Now they’ll be turning the ball over to Love, who has spent the first three years of his career sitting behind Rodgers.

Before he actually takes over as the starter, it looks like the Packers may already be looking into other quarterbacks.

According to ESPN’s Matt Miller, the Packers will be meeting with Hendon Hooker this week.

The Packers are likely just doing their due diligence here, but it would be a big mistake for them to actually draft Hendon Hooker.

Hooker is going to be taken in the first couple of rounds of this draft and the Packers should have already learned from their decision to draft Love that they can’t afford to spend early draft capital on a QB when they already have one.

The Packers don’t spend big money on free agents, meaning that they need to get their stars early in the draft.

This is a team that can’t stop the run, had some blocking issues last year, and has no idea what to expect from their pass catchers in 2023.

If Jordan Love is going to have any chance of succeeding as the Green Bay Packers’ starter, they’ll need to put the right pieces around him.

If they have done that for Rodgers 3 years ago instead of spending a 1st rounder on a QB, they might have another ring right now.

They shouldn’t make the same mistakes with Love while he’s getting comfortable under center.
