Isaiah Bond was a virtual lock to transfer to Texas after entering the portal earlier this month. The former Alabama wide receiver hit the portal shortly after Nick Saban retired and announced his commitment to his new program within 72 hours.

There are looming questions about his recruitment and the role of NIL!

Isaiah Bond is enrolled at Texas.

Steve Sarkisian landed a premier pass-catcher who led the Crimson Tide in receptions last season. Bond also finished second on the team in receiving.

He will have two years of college football eligibility remaining with the Longhorns and is set to play a big role in their national championship hopes. It was a big move that Lane Kiffin predicted from the start.

Bond made a very bold statement about his move from Tuscaloosa to Austin and called it a “business decision” while speaking to Pete Thamel.

Just like the business world, you make the best decision for your company. My company right now is my draft stock. I feel like I’m putting myself in a position to increase that and have a better draft stock.

The former four-star recruit also admitted that Kalen DeBoer reached out to gauge his interest about a return, but said that he did not reply. Ice cold.

Bond also said that he likes “the whole package” at Texas.

Although he was speaking about the offensive line and quarterback, his comments were interpreted as a reference to NIL by some. Especially after Bond posted a photo inside of a Lamborghini to Snapchat while on his recruiting visit.

However, it does not appear as though he received an Italian sports car.

Bond recently posted a photo to his Instagram story at the Leif Johnson Ford dealership. He stood next to a green Ford Bronco and threw the ‘Horns Up.’

Hmmm….

The new Bronco is awesome. It’s valued at approximately $50,000.

Isaiah Bond is surely stoked.

However, it definitely raises questions about the previous post on Snapchat.

Was he promised an NIL deal with Lamborghini that didn’t come to fruition? Did he get to pick between the Lambo and Bronco? Will he receive a Lamborghini instead of a Bronco if he reaches certain incentive goals or chooses to return for his senior year in 2025?

We don’t know.

It’s all speculation at this point and nobody involved is going to comment on the record. But there is no denying that Bond’s initial Lamborghini flex looks awfully strange after he ended up in a Bronco!
