Ja Morant is reportedly involved in yet another off the court incident. This time may be the most serious.
Fans of the NBA are reacting to the news of a postgame altercation as the story makes its way around the internet.
The Athletic was the first to report on the incident which took place after a recent matchup against the Pacers. Apparently, frustrated members of Morant’s entourage aggressively confronted members of the Pacers traveling party. Someone later pointed a trained red laser on them from a slow-moving SUV.
Morant is said to have been riding in that SUV.
Here’s more from the story.
Following a game between the Pacers and Grizzlies on Jan. 29 in Memphis, acquaintances of Ja Morant aggressively confronted members of the Pacers’ travelling party near the team’s bus in the loading area of FedEx Forum.
After the game, the Pacers players, coaches, and support staff entered the loading area to board the bus. About 30 to 40 yards away from the bus were two parked cars… Four to five men emerged from the cars, walked to within 30 yards of the Pacers group, and began shouting at them.
According to sources, the remarks directed at them included: “Come get some of this” and “you don’t know how we roll” and “I’ll show you what I got.” Some Pacers players yelled back… Security got between the two groups.
The verbal sparring continued for approximately 15 to 20 minutes, until Morant entered the loading area… One SUV moved towards the Pacers bus, turned, slowed down, and that was when members of the travelling party noticed a red laser coming from the car and being trained on players, coaches, and others.
Security members claimed that it was “100 percent a gun” and that they felt the were in “grave danger.”
The Pacers have alerted the league of the issue.
The tensions seemed to have stemmed from an altercation between Ja Morant’s father and members of the Indiana team. That, unfortunately, is far from the first incident involving Morant’s posse on the sidelines.
Tee Morant was recently seen in a shouting match with Shannon Sharpe in a matchup between the Lakers and Grizzlies.
The latest altercation has led to a reaction from fans on social media.
