Commitment graphics are all the rage amongst college athletes as they look to commemorate the next steps in their playing careers. Whether that be a move from high school to college, or a transfer from one school to another, these images flood social media throughout the offseason when players tell the world of their NCAA decisions.

Some are complex while others are simple, and some announcements are just downright corny. One Jacksonville State football player’s graphic is now going viral for a hilarious mix-up.

The player is safety Mysonne Pollard, an All-American at the Junior College level with the Monroe Mustangs.

After wrapping up that JUCO career, he’s ready for a step up in competition, and he’ll do so at a prominent Group of Five power.

The Jacksonville State Gamecocks, led by head coach Rich Rodriguez, are always a group that strikes fear into DI opponents when their name comes onto the schedule.

Over the last decade, JSU’s beaten Florida State and taken Auburn to overtime. They looked on their way to beating South Carolina last season before a late pick-six flipped the game.

Simply put, they’re a threat, and anyone landing an offer from the program can flat-out ball.

That includes Mysonne Pollard!

The defensive back committed to the Gamecocks in May in hopes of making immediate contributions in the secondary. Unfortunately, his commitment graphic was a bit off!

Many immediately pointed out the skyline pictured in the image. Anyone familiar with Jacksonville, Alabama knows that it’s a small town with a population of less than 15,000 people.

A rural area, it’s located in between Atlanta and Birmingham just off of I-20. No skyscrapers. Not much flash. Just your typical southern stop-in.

Jacksonville, Florida on the other hand? That might more closely resemble the high-rises pictured in the prospect’s announcement.

Followers had some fun with the post online.

“That skyline looks a little different nowadays.”

“Major L for the graphic designer.”

“*Squints at background*… I don’t think that’s the right Jacksonville.”

“Ah, yes. Using Jacksonville, FL when you’re playing in Jacksonville, AL.”

He’s not the only person to post a social media mishap online, and he won’t be the last. Heck, high-level Division I creative teams make headlines for poorly designed graphics year in and year out.

We’ll chalk this one up to a player from Connecticut being unfamiliar with the southeast and his soon-to-be home. Hopefully, he’s not too disappointed when he arrives at Jacksonville State.
