There are still several free agents available in the NFL right now that could end up making a big impact for whichever team signs them.

One those players is none other than Jadeveon Clowney. After playing decent for the Cleveland Browns these last two seasons, it seems he’s eyeing a new team in 2023.

I say “new team” lightly though. Mainly due to the fact that the former first round pick seems interested in signing with one of his former teams.

According to ESPN, Jadeveon Clowney named the Houston Texans as a team he’d like to play for in 2023. In fact, it sounds like his agent has been in contact with the Texans recently.

“It would be nice. All my family is here. Friends here. The guys I work out with can help me take care of my body a lot better being right up under them.”

On top of that, Clowney is a big fan of Texans’ new head coach DeMeco Ryans.

“You never know. You never know what will happen. You never know what’s in front of you. I see what they’ve got here. They’re putting the pieces together. I’m a big fan of their new head coach.”

The idea of Jadeveon Clowney reuniting with the Texans actually sounds enticing. Especially after the franchise traded back up to the No. 3 pick to select Will Anderson.

Those two could become a dangerous pair with Clowney helping develop the young prospect.

Also, considering Houston was near dead last in total defense last season, signing Jadeveon Clowney to the roster could really help this team on the defensive end.

This might be a situation to monitor. If there is interest on both sides, then perhaps a reunion in Houston could be in the works.
