Police have issued an arrest warrant for Jalen Carter, a two-time national champion with the Georgia Bulldogs.

The arrest warrant was issued following an investigation that determined the events leading up to the fatal crash of Jalen Carter’s former teammate, Devin Willock and UGA staffer Chandler LeCroy.

In a public announcement, ACCPD said they determined the Georgia Bulldogs teammates were drag racing on busy roads and Chandler LeCroy’s Ford Expedition was traveling at 104 miles per hour before the fatal crash.

Furthermore, LeCroy’s blood alcohol level (BAC) was determined to be .197 at the time of the crash.

Police used surveillance video of the crash and according to AJC, they “had reason to suspect almost from the moment of the crash that other cars had been at the scene, and they soon learned at least two of those vehicles were driven by Georgia football players.”

Devin Willock died on the scene after sustaining fatal injuries in the crash. Chandler LeCroy was transferred to a hospital for emergency care but later died of injuries sustained.

Using city-owned cameras and security footage of a business owner, police determined Jalen Carter was at the scene and issued an arrest warrant.

According to 247 Sports, Jalen Carter “initially told police he was more than a mile away from the accident when it happened, but later said he was close enough to the car to see its taillights.”

Currently, ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. predicts the Chicago Bears will draft Jalen Carter in the 1st round of the 2023 NFL Draft with the #4 pick after the Bears trade their first overall pick.
