Cal-Berkeley basketball played to a two-point win over its biggest rival on Friday night behind key leadership from point guard Jalen Cone. The fifth-year senior is the Golden Bears’ third-leading scorer and dropped 10 points in 33 minutes against the Stanford Cardinal.

While it wasn’t his best outing of the year, Cal’s offense runs through Jalen Cone so he is integral to success.

However, the former Virginia Tech and Northern Arizona transfer is not just a college basketball player. He can sing! Cone is known to break out his guitar and belt out some country tunes when not on the hardwood or in class.

His not-so-hidden talent has made him quite the sensation on campus and his team always shows out to support him! Cone played a party at the SAE house on Thursday night.

The Golden Bears were jamming out to Cone’s rendition of ‘Whiskey Glasses’ by Morgan Wallen.

Vibes were high!

It is unclear as to how Cone’s performance came to be. He might be a member of the fraternity. His buddy might have recruited him to play at the house.

There is also the possibility that it was a paid gig, which would make it even cooler. Cone can profit off of his non-basketball talent in the Name, Image and Likeness era— so hopefully SAE offered him a small chunk of change to throw on his best blue jeans and play a few of his favorite country songs!

Regardless of whether Cone chooses to pursue a career in music once his playing days are over, he will never forget Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024. That’s a core memory for someone who has enrolled at three different schools in five years.

Cone’s college experience is extremely unique. To play a country concert on Thursday before beating your biggest and most hated rival in front of a sold-out home crowd on Friday is an epic two-day run!
