Following the Philadelphia Eagles’ third consecutive loss of the season, this time on the road to the Seattle Seahawks, NFL fans are beginning to wonder if Jalen Hurts is actually the MVP-caliber player that he was believed to be.

In a game that saw Hurts complete 17 of 31 passes for just 143 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions, the Eagles were able to score just 17 points despite the weapons that the offense possesses.

After the loss, there were tons of NFL fans on Twitter — many who are likely rooting against the Eagles, for what it’s worth — who were crushing Hurts to such an extent that they were basically calling him a fraud.

“Jalen Hurts just a fullback that wears hoop earrings,” joked on viral tweet.

“Jalen Hurts about to get on the podium and start talking about ‘Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.’ F– outta here bum,” said another tweet with over 10,000 likes.

As a result of their loss to the Seahawks, the Eagles have dropped to 10-4, meaning they no longer lead the NFC East and are now the #5 seed in the conference.

Luckily for the Eagles, two of their final three games of the season are against the New York Giants, while the other is against the lowly Arizona Cardinals. Furthermore, despite their three-game skid, the Eagles still control their own fate and will win the NFC East if they emerge victorious from their final three matchups.

The #1 seed in the NFC, however, is likely no longer possible given that the San Francisco 49ers are both a game ahead in the standings at 11-3 and hold the head-to-head tiebreaker.

Through 14 games this season, Hurts has completed 65% of his passes for 3,335 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. He’s also carried the ball 139 times for 542 yards, 14 touchdowns (a career-high), and five fumbles (four lost).

Hurts’ 12 picks and 5 fumbles mean he’s responsible for the most turnovers in the NFL this season at 17.
