Professional athletes have to deal with headaches most members of the general public don’t really have to worry about encountering, and Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has now found himself embroiled in a strange case involving the fallout of a supposed one-night stand.

At the risk of painting people in Chase’s line of work with a wide brush, being an NFL player comes with plenty of perks off of the field, as I don’t think it’s a huge stretch to suggest incredibly athletic guys with deep pockets have an easier time meeting women than the Average Joe.

According to TMZ, Chase found himself involved with a woman named Ambar Hunter before engaging in what he described as a one-night stand in 2021 in a recent court filing where his legal team argued he should be granted a temporary restraining order over the “calculated and ongoing harassment” campaign he’s accused her of engaging in since their brief fling.

The outlet posted a number of screenshots taken from Hunter’s Instagram account (which appears to be deactivated but reportedly boasted around 18,000 followers) showing posts where she accused Chase of domestic abuse and fathering a child he refuses to acknowledge (the WR denies those claims and asserts she’s been unwilling to agree to a paternity test to determine if he is indeed the father).

The filing also alleges Hunter has engaged in “unhinged and disturbing” behavior that includes posts taking aim at Chase’s mother Toleah and others containing private phone numbers that the wideout says have resulted in unsolicited calls and texts.

As a result, it’s pretty easy to understand why Chase is seeking the restraining order, and while I’m certainly not a legal expert, it doesn’t seem like a huge stretch to suggest the judge overseeing the case will side with him when everything is said and done based on the evidence at hand.
