James Harden Provides NBA’s First LOL Moment By Bricking Wide-Open Shot After Taunting Defender

James Harden made headlines for a number of different reasons in his season opener, some good, some bad.

The Philadelphia point guard had fans talking from the get-go with his pre-game wardrobe. Harden showed up in fuzzy slippers and pajama like attire. It was like he rolled out of bed five minutes before getting to the arena.

But his play on the court looked far from tired.

Harden went off in his season debut, scoring a team-high 35 points. The lefty shot 9-for-14, connecting on five three-pointers. Harden also dished out seven assists and pulled down eight boards, just missing out on a double-double.

But there was one shot that didn’t go in, and it provided viewers with the first LOL moment of the NBA season.

James Harden bricks jump shot after trolling a defender with his famed shimmy.

After crossing up a Celtics’ defender, Harden did his patented shoulder shake before throwing up a three-point attempt. That attempt was well off line.

The near airball is now making its way around social media, even showing up on Shaquille O’Neal’s “Shaqtin’ A Fool.”

It’s not the first time Harden’s been burned by the shimmy. He made a previous “Shaqtin’ A Fool” segment a few years back with the Rockets.

Certainly an embarrassing moment for the guard, but it didn’t overshadow his debut performance. Unfortunately, his 35 points weren’t enough to land the Sixers a win in Game 1. Philly fell to the defending Eastern Conference champs by a score of 126-117.

They’ll be back in action on Thursday in hopes of getting in the win column.
