Jamier Brown is one of the top-ranked prospects in high school football. He and some his classmates said way too much about the recruiting process during a recent interview at the OT7 Finals.
The Ohio State commit claims that multiple colleges offered to bring him females in exchange for his commitment.
To be fair, he was not the only high school football player to say it— and I don’t think he meant what he said to come out how he said it. That doesn’t make his admission any less jarring.
Who is Jamier Brown?
At 5-foot-11, 192 pounds, Brown currently ranks as the No. 1 player in the state of Ohio, the No. 6 player at his position and the No. 32 player overall. The five-star wide receiver recently transferred to Big Walnut High School in Sunbury, Ohio for his senior season.
Jamier Brown is a certified burner. He set the national record for freshman in the 60-meter dash and won the event at Adidas Track Nationals. His top marks include: 6.75 in the 60, 10.36 in the 100 and 20.79 in the 200.
When Brown wasn’t tearing up the track, he was tearing up the gridiron at Wayne High School in Huber Heights. As a result of his strong play, he was named as a First Team All-State player as a junior in 2025 with 73 receptions for 1,009 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was also invited to compete at the Under Armour All-America Game and at the Polynesian Bowl.
In addition to his dominance on the field, Brown was a major figure in a lawsuit against the Ohio High School Athletic Association. His mother filed the lawsuit on his behalf, which stated that her son was prevented from earning more than $100,000 in NIL contracts due to OHSAA restrictions. Ohio became the 45th state to approve high school athletes to receive NIL money shortly after the lawsuit was filed. Brown’s case was crucial to the approval.
College football programs offered “females out” to a high school football recruit.
Brown actually committed to Ohio State as a sophomore. Although there is still a lot of time for him to flip, it seems like he is going to stay home and he remains locked in on his commitment to the Buckeyes. That is not stopping other schools from trying!
Before we go any further, it should be noted that it is not uncommon for top college football programs to use members of the opposite gender during the recruiting process. Lets just be real about it. There are a lot of schools that send recruits out on the town with active players to mingle with attractive girls. Many of the staffers who host recruits for their official visits are good looking.
A recruit may not commit to a specific school because its women are pretty, especially in the NIL era. But it can’t hurt.
I would like to think that this kind of recruiting tactic is what Jamier Brown referred to during a recent interview at the OT7 Finals. It is not quite what he said.
“A couple schools have offered a couple females out for me to commit to that school,” he said.
Brown did not name the schools. Nor did it sound like his comment was about Ohio State.
Brown has 24 scholarship offers in total. That list includes Auburn, Cincinnati, Indiana, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Oregon, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, Marshall, Notre Dame, South Florida, Ball State, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Miami of Ohio, Toledo and UMass. One or more of those schools offered him “a couple females out” in exchange for his commitment.
I think we can probably rule out the Group of Six programs. Though it would be very funny if it was a school like Toledo.
Notre Dame cornerback commit Ace Alston also spoke about the role of women in recruiting. Brown was not alone in that. It is a thing that happens. However, Alston’s comment was far less aggressive than Brown’s.
“Every week they have like girls calling me and Facetiming me, stuff like that.”
Is that what Brown meant by what he said?! Probably. Regardless of what he meant, why did he say it?! Some of the high school football recruits chose not to answer the question. He should’ve done the same…
