The Idaho Vandals are off to a hot start in the 2024 college football campaign. After giving the Oregon Ducks all they could handle in a 24-14 season opening loss, they went into Laramie and knocked off Wyoming.

Head coach Jason Eck celebrated appropriately with his Vandals players after the fact.

Idaho entered that road matchup as a touchdown underdog, but it wouldn’t prevent the FCS program from leaving with a win over FBS competition.

Eck’s defense was dominant in that upset, holding the Cowboys to just 270 total yards, and while the offense struggled to move the ball consistently at times, it scored just enough to give its team the nod.

The postgame afterparty was a vibe!

Wyoming is the second FBS team that Idaho’s knocked off during Jason Eck’s three-year tenure, with the first being Nevada.

He wasn’t missing the opportunity to celebrate!

Jason Eck is a large human being.

Eck is a former Wisconsin offensive lineman that played for the Badgers in the late 1990s. Since, he’s been working as a college football coach with stops at a number of highly regarded FCS programs.

Most recently, he was an assistant at South Dakota State where he helped guide the Jackrabbits to a national title game appearance as an offensive coordinator.

The Vandals are glad he’s on their side now!

One thing you’ll notice almost immediately is Eck’s size. He stands north of six-foot-tall and tips the scales at around 300 pounds. He doesn’t let it stop him from showing off his dance moves.

After flexing their muscles against FBS heavyweights, the Vandals return to FCS competition in Week 3 with a matchup against Albany.

Hopefully, the end result leads to another celebratory scene for Jason Eck!
