The San Francisco 49es went into Philadelphia as underdogs on Sunday and knocked off the defending champion Eagles with a 23-19 victory. Part of that victory was 29-yard touchdown pass thrown to running back Christian McCaffrey from wide receiver Jauan Jennings.

49ers pass catcher Jauan Jennings not only threw a touchdown pass in the 49ers’ win over the Philadelphia Eagles, but his lone 29-yard completion was actually longer than any pass completed by Eagles QB Jalen Hurts in the game (in terms of “air yards,” which measures how far a football travels in the air from the line of scrimmage to the point where it’s caught).

In addition to tossing a 29-yard touchdown pass, Jennings also had one reception for 45 yards on 3 targets. As for Hurts, he completed 20 of 35 passes for 168 yards and one touchdown.

Speaking to the media after the loss, Hurts shouldered responsibility for the Eagles’ loss.

“I think competitively everyone on our team had a great desire to win, to achieve the ultimate goal, and especially here right now, having everything in front of us, it was about winning, and that’s something that we didn’t collectively do, and that starts with me,” Hurts said.

This season, Hurts completed 64.8% of his passes for 3,224 yards, 25 touchdowns and six interceptions. Jennings, on the other hand, had 55 catches for 643 yards and a career-high 9 receiving touchdowns.

With the win over the Philadelphia Eagles, the 6-seed San Francisco 49ers have advance to the NFC Divisional Round, where they’ll be taking on their NFC West rivals, the #1 seed Seattle Seahawks, on Saturday, January 17.
