Cal-Berkeley running back Jaydn Ott pulled the ultimate ‘SIKE’ on Golden Bears fans by entering the transfer portal for literally six seconds. The fake entry was so cruel, in the best way possible.

It was a huge loss for the Golden Bears when Ott entered the transfer portal on Friday. His entry immediately made him one of the most highly-coveted non-quarterback players in the portal.

However, Ott did not take long to make his decision! He posted a very serious sit-down video on X, formerly known as Twitter, in which he made it seem like he was leaving.

And then, shortly after walking out of the frame in somber fashion, Ott revealed his true intentions to stay put. Cal’s superstar running back is not going anywhere!

Ott, a former four-star prospect in the college football recruiting Class of 2022, chose to play in the Bay Area over offers from 18 schools. BYU, USC, Colorado and Wisconsin were in the mix, but he ultimately chose Cal over Oregon.

The 6-foot, 200-pounder has been phenomenal thus far. Ott ran for 2,157 yards and 19 touchdowns on 399 carries while starting 21 games in two seasons. He also led the Pac-12 in rushing average last season and ranked seventh in the country while recording six games of 150 yards ore more.

For the Golden Bears to retain Ott in the current market is very impressive. The decision is a testament to the education at Cal, head coach Justin Wilcox’s culture, and perhaps NIL funds.

Ott could have pulled a big bag in the transfer portal. Multiple suitors probably reached out behind-the-scenes even though “tampering” is illegal. He ignored all of the outside offers and chose to stay put.

Nobody else has announced their transfer decision in such a manner. Ott had the entire college football world thinking that he was gone for a full 40 seconds!
