Jeff Passan is one of, if not, the best baseball reporter at ESPN. He’s basically the Adam Schefter or Adrian Wojnarowski of the MLB.

Typically, his reports are incredibly accurate while also being extremely entertaining.

However, on Monday, Passan had some bad news to share with the sporting world.

ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports that he recently broke his back from a widow-maker fell and crushed him. He does say he has feeling in his arms, fingers, legs, and toes. But unfortunately, he also reports he suffered a broken back.

Here is Passan’s full report on what happened.

This is upsetting news for most but at least he’s in good spirits. Luckily enough, his vertebrae should heal. That means he should be able to walk again at some point.

But this goes to show you how random life can be. You really never know what’s going to happen.

With that said, we’re just glad Jeff Passan is okay and so does his coworkers at ESPN.

Passan joined ESPN back in 2019 and been the face of the department ever since. It’s hard to imagine the program without him, as he’s on top of every single report in regards to baseball.

Obviously, there is no telling when Jeff Passan will return, as he’ll be focusing on healing from this serious injury.

We hope for nothing but the best and as I mentioned earlier, Passan being in good spirits is a great sign.

So, here’s to a quick and speedy recovery for Jeff Passan. The falling tree incident could have been substantially worse.
