Jerry Jones loves glory holes. He wants the Dallas Cowboys to return to the days of the glory hole.
Yes, it is as hilarious as it sounds.
Jones, who turned 81 years old last month, has been known to say some crazy things. Very few are as funny as what he said on July 29, 2012.
While speaking during the opening press conference at NFL training camp in Oxnard, Calif., Jones was talking about the veterans on the team at the time. Tony Romo and Jason Witten were perhaps the most notable.
Both guys are Dallas legends. Neither of them saw much success in the postseason.
That was a big change from the dominance of the 1990s, which saw the Cowboys win three Super Bowls. Jones was talking about the drop off and wanting to get back to winning ways when, all of a sudden, he went completely off of the rails without any context.

The quote caught everybody off guard and immediately grabbed headlines because of the hilarity.
A “glory hole” to most, of course, is not what Jones was referencing.
A gloryhole is a hole made in a thin wall or other type of partition where a man can insert his genitals for sexual stimulation by an anonymous person on the other side. They can be found in bathrooms in the stall wall, in private rooms found in adult bookstores, and in dark rooms and labyrinths in bathhouses.

Dallas’ PR department tried to clear things up after Jones said what he said. They pointed to another definition of glory hole, which is a term used in the oil and gas business— where jones made his money before buying the Cowboys.
Apparently, now 11 years later, it appears as though he forgot about the first incident in 2012. Considering his age, that makes sense. Either that, or he knows what he’s doing and doubled down.
Jones spoke to 105.3 The Fan on Friday morning and described what it’s like to win a Super Bowl.
