Sorry, Dallas Cowboys fans, Jerry Jones is not going to be stepping down as the team’s general manager anytime soon.

“I’ve done it all,” Jerry Jones told DLLS. “So I have an ordinate amount of confidence that f—, if anybody can figure out how to get this s— done, I can figure out how to get it done.

“I’ve been there every which way from Sunday, and have I busted my a– a bunch, a bunch. And there’s nobody living that’s out cutting and shooting that can’t give you a bunch of times they busted their a–. So hell no, there’s nobody that could f—— come in here and do all the contracts … and be a GM any better than I can.

“Plus, I’m where the buck stops. When it f— up, I got to cover it. And so there you can’t give anybody enough. Can’t give. There’s nobody can do it.”

Has everyone got that?!

He wasn’t done.

“I f—— have had hundreds of [bad days],” Jones continued. “I’m emotional about it sometimes. Well, running this thing, that’s who I want to make the last call. Now, when I can’t f—— think, when I’m old and I can’t even do it… but I’m a long way from not being able to do it too.

“The reason I don’t let somebody else be the GM is because I don’t have anybody that I will let do it to actually do it right. And they’re gonna have to come to me and because I know where it is that you’re going to pay for it.”

All that being said, Jerry Jones does have a plan for the Dallas Cowboys “if I get hit by a car out here tonight.”

His children, Charlotte Jones, Stephen Jones and Jerry Jones Jr. will be ready to step in should something like that ever happen.

Of note: As of 2020, Jerry Jones had the second worst won-loss record among NFL general managers with 10 or more years on the job.

Since then, the team has had an exceptional 36-15 record, but the 2025 season will mark 30 years since the Dallas Cowboys last won a Super Bowl and they have only gone 16-15 in the playoffs since Jerry took over as the GM in 1989.
