Washington outfielder Jesse Winker was seen getting into it with a 66-year-old Padres fan following an extra inning loss in San Diego on Monday night. The fan believed that the Nationals had purposely thrown at Jurickson Profar late in the game.

Winker seemingly took offense to the insinuation, which was a bit ludicrous given the time and situation.

Washington overcame an early 3-0 deficit, plating runs in the third, fifth, and seventh innings to tie things up. The teams headed to extras with the game even at 3-3, and then the scoring took off.

The Nationals plated three runs in the top of the 10th before the Padres battled back in the bottom half of the frame.

With the bases loaded and the tying run on third, Jurickson Profar stepped into the batter’s box. He’d belt a two-run single to not only even the score but win the game in walk-off fashion.

Not satisfied with the victory, this San Diego fan took the opportunity to trash the Nationals as Jesse Winker walked off the field.

“That s— is cheap,” the fan said while suggesting that a Washington pitcher intentionally threw at Profar – again with the bases loaded and tying run just 90 feet away.

“I’m 66, what are you, 26?” he then asked, as if his baseball knowledge was somehow greater given that age difference.

The scene was certainly a bizarre one following what had been an exciting game.

It’s not the first time Winker’s gotten into it with fans. He was seen taunting a Yankees fan while playing for the Mariners back in 2022, flashing a vicious ‘Four Eyes’ gesture the spectacle-wearing New Yorker’s way.

In this instance, though, he was likely right in his argument.
