It appears that Zach Wilson and the NY Jets are headed to Splitsville despite the fact that Wilson is currently the team’s starting QB.

Earlier this week, Jets head coach Robert Saleh revealed that Wilson would return as the starting QB of the team because he gives the team the “best chance to win.”

According to a report by Doug Robinson of Deseret News, the Jets had agreed to trade Wilson when they benched him two weeks ago before making him the starter again.

“Sources close to the situation confirmed to the Deseret News that the Jets have told Zach Wilson he will be traded after the season. Wilson and coach Robert Saleh agreed to a mutual parting following the benching — again — of Wilson and before the team decided to return him to the starting position Sunday.”

Robinson’s report could give clarity as to why Wilson was reportedly hesitant to take the starting QB job.

It would be interesting to see what Wilson’s trade market looks like if he does seek a trade during the offseason.
