It was an ugly performance for Zach Wilson in the New York Jets’ last matchup against the New England Patriots. He made awful decisions and threw lazy passes, resulting in three interceptions. The fanbase is growing wary of his abilities, while head coach Robert Saleh provides an update about his young quarterback.
Jets HC Robert Saleh Confirms Zach Wilson’s Job Is Safe
According to Connor Hughes, the Jets head coach claims he “gave zero thought to benching Zach Wilson.” On top of that, Saleh doubles down by claiming New York “will stick with Wilson throughout this year.” So for now, Wilson will remain as the starting quarterback.
Robert Saleh said the #Jets gave zero thought to benching Zach Wilson yesterday.
He added that #NYJ will stick with Wilson throughout this year — for better or worse — no matter what happens.
Only thing that gets Wilson out of the lineup is injury.

There is a lot of talk surrounding Zach Wilson right now. Many believe he is still talented, it’s just his ego and maturity are lacking. For that reason, it makes sense why Robert Saleh wants to keep Wilson as the starting quarterback of the Jets. However, the fanbase is at odds over the decision.
Big L from Saleh. Why should Wilson have perfect job security when no one else does?

This does seem like the most logical approach for the Jets.
100% correct remark here. Whether you hate or love ZW (I know there’s no in between with Jetstwitter), you must see what you have in him this year.

Jets fans just want to win so badly.
Mind boggling that they signal win now with Robinson trade and say something like this. If he completely unravels these next few games they need to go with another option

Now, this is just crazy talk.
Team has such a feel to win now. Call me crazy but I’d trade for Matt Ryan take up have that money the colts would love. That don’t even wanna play him.

At the end of the day, it probably makes the most sense for the Jets to have Zach Wilson finish the year as the quarterback. Although the team is much more competitive than last year, Robert Saleh has to see what he has in Wilson.
So, keep an eye on this situation. Depending on how the quarterback play goes, the Jets’ head coach could make a drastic decision down the road.
