Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay was found unresponsive due to a suspected overdose in his bed back in December, according to reports.

The 64-year-old Colts owner was found “unresponsive, cold to the touch and gasping for air” on December 8, as per Carmel Police Department documents obtained by TMZ.

Someone at Irsay’s residence initially discovered him around 4:30 a.m. “unconscious on a bathroom floor with a blue skin tone.”

Narcan was eventually used to help wake up and got Irsay to “respond slightly”.

“When police first arrived on the scene, Irsay had been moved to his bed where he was struggling to breathe and had a weak pulse and constricted pupils.”

“Police say in the docs an attempt to wake him with a sternum rub was unsuccessful. They added, though, that after administering one dosage of Narcan — a drug commonly used to revive people in opiate overdose situations — ‘he responded slightly.'” [via TMZ]

Carmel police were about to attach an AED to Irsay when paramedics arrived on the scene and took over the situation before transporting him to a nearby hospital.

“Officers noted in the documents that a caretaker provided them a list of the medications Irsay had been taking, though they wrote in the report, ‘At this time, it is unknown what Mr. Irsay had ingested prior to our arrival.'”

Irsay’s issues with addiction struggles are well-documented, as he recently told HBO’s Real Sports that he feels “grateful to be alive” after years of addiction and substance abuse.

He also told the program that he’s been to rehab “at least 15 times” and has overdosed in the past.

Irsay, the billionaire son of original Colts owner Robert Irsay (the one who moved the team from Baltimore to Indy), has been the owner of the franchise since 1997.

During that time as owner, the Colts have been AFC champions twice and won one Super Bowl. From the early 2000s to the mid 2010s, the Colts were one of the dominant forces in the NFL thanks to Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning.
