It’s been over a week since the Houston Texans shockingly announced that they would be releasing J.J. Watt and the rumors as to where the five-time Pro Bowler may end up next are alive and well. Watt was immediately linked to the Steelers following the news of his release due to the fact that his brothers Derek and T.J. play for Pittsburgh, but there are certainly other teams in the mix as well.
On Tuesday morning, Watt decided to stir the pot himself by sharing a random tweet about mitochondria.
Mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell.

It’s a bizarre tweet from Watt. Letting the world know that mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell before 9AM on a Tuesday is strange. I failed anatomy and barely passed biology II in college so I appreciate the refresher here, but some fans of certain teams around the league are convinced there’s a hidden meaning behind the tweet.
Browns fans seem to think that Watt is trying to tell them that he’s signing with Cleveland by linking mitochondria to the name of the team’s stadium, First Energy Stadium.

Mitochondria generates energy in a cell, the Cleveland #Browns play in First ENERGY stadium… coincidence… I think not! 🤷🏻♂️

It’s a bit of a reach from Browns here as they’re likely making something out of nothing, but Bills fans are reading into the tweet as well. To their credit, Buffalo has a closer relationship with mitochondria than Cleveland, so maybe Bills fans have cracked the cryptic tweet.

Superstar athletes firing off cryptics messages on Twitter truly is the gift that keeps on giving.
