Are the Watt brothers going to team up in Pittsburgh?
On Friday morning the Houston Texans announced they were going to release longtime defensive lineman JJ Watt instead of trading him in a move that will save them $17 million in cap space.
The #Texans save $17.5 million in 2021 cash and salary cap space by releasing J.J. Watt, who will be free to sign immediately with a new team.

Watt went on to release a video statement on Twitter where he said he had asked to be released by the team before thanking fans for their support.

Watt’s brother, TJ, who plays for the Steelers is now openly recruiting JJ to Pittsburgh on social media.
It’s unclear if the Steelers would be able to make it work due to their salary cap situation but it would be pretty cool to see the Watt brothers in Pittsburgh.
According to OvertheCap, the Pittsburgh Steelers are apparently well over the salary cap with their current roster. To sign J.J. Watt, they would need to part ways with a lot of good talent. But, many of the contracts hurt almost as much as they help if cut before June 1st. pic.twitter.com/OswByETQxh
