Troy Aikman lives in Texas so one might assume that he is a fan of one of the baseball teams from that state like the Houston Astros or Texas Rangers.
Of course, that is assuming that he follows baseball at all.
Monday night, during the Las Vegas Raiders and Green Bay Packers game, Aikman revealed which team he roots for when expressed how happy he was for “his” Texas Rangers.
“Speaking of October, how bout my Rangers?” Aikman said to his broadcast partner Joe Buck. “I’m on that bandwagon. You bet I am.”
Rather than agreeing with him and moving on, Buck chose that moment to stick it to his friend in the booth.
“I’ll give you $100 if you can name four players for the Rangers,” Buck chimed in, much to Aikman’s chagrin.
“You know, there was a time when I didn’t have to work with you in October. I don’t know what happened to those days,” Aikman replied back.
“Those are long gone. You’re stuck,” Buck joked back.
“My Rangers…” Buck added with feigned disgust.

“This is great! Well played Joe Buck,” one fan commented.
“Normally I don’t care about commentator banter but this is an amazing burn from Troy on Joe,” another fan wrote.
“This is the kind of banter I appreciate during a game,” someone else wrote.
Basically the entire AL All Star starting lineup were rangers and Troy Aikman just can’t do it lol

It’s hard to blame Troy Aikman for jumping on the Texas Rangers bandwagon. They entered the American League playoffs as the fifth seed after finishing the 2023 MLB season with a 90-72 record.
They have the toughest path of any AL team to get to the World Series.
And yet, in the first round, the Rangers swept the Tampa Bay Rays, who won 99 games this year, and now in the Division Series Texas is up 2-0 over the Baltimore Orioles who are the number one seed after winning 101 games – most in the American League.
Texas goes for its second sweep Tuesday night with a home game that begins at 8:03 ET. Troy Aikman will surely be watching.
