Joe Burrow was already beloved by Bengals fans prior to him leading the team to its first playoff win since the 1990 season but after his performance against the Raiders, fans have taken things to a whole new level.
Burrow was very solid against Las Vegas going 24-for-34 through the air for 244 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He and the Bengals got the job done in the 26-19 victory and sports fans in Cincinnati are buzzing for the first time since the Reds made the NLCS in 1995.
While the win alone has Bengals fans rightfully fired up, what Burrow had to say about the win itself has raised his stock with the fans even more so.
Joe Burrow Has A New Standard For The Bengals
While speaking with the media on Tuesday, the former LSU star made it clear that winning a first-round playoff game is the new standard for the Bengals.
“The fans were very excited,” Burrow said, according to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic. “I tried to downplay it and all that because this is how it’s going to be from here on out. This is a great win for us but this is the standard for the bare minimum every year going forward.”
It’s safe to say Burrow’s quote is music to Bengals fans’ ears, they reacted accordingly to what he had to say.

The Bengals will now try to carry their momentum to Nashville as they take on the Tennessee Titans on Saturday afternoon. It should be quite the contest between Cincy and Tennessee, especially given the fact that Derrick Henry is set to return to the Titans’ backfield.
