Soon As The Thunder Lost Game 7, Joel Embiid Tried Recruiting Kevin Durant To The 76ers

No sooner were the Oklahoma City Thunder eliminated from the NBA Playoffs to cap off an extraordinary Golden State Warriors’ comeback from down 3-1 in the Western Conference Finals, did questions start to fly about where Kevin Durant may end up next season.

KD is a free agent come next year, and there’s without a shadow of a doubt a laundry list of teams that would love to employ his services. Durant addressed the free agency talk during his post-game presser last night, telling media members:

To be honest, I promise you I haven’t thought about that. It’s hard to think about that. Especially right now, especially when you’re battling every single day. It’s hard. Give me a couple weeks and talk to me then, but I just don’t know right know, man.

And within in minutes of the Thunder’s crushing 96-88 loss, there was this – Philadelphia 76ers rookie Joel Embiid making his case for Durant to head east.

Guess it’s never too early to throw your hat in the ring, eh?

The most ironic thing being that Embiid has yet to even play a regular season game for the Sixers as a result of ongoing problems with a stress factor in his foot.

But hey, I guess hopes are high in Philadelphia, and who would argue with a healthy Joel Embiid playing alongside Kevin Durant, Jahlil Okafor, and likely Ben Simmons?

Trust the process they say. Well if KD becomes part of that process, you better believe 76ers fans are all-in for years to come.
